Fireworks expected: Red Bull and Mercedes at press conference together
- GPblog.com
It's been the case all season: it's all about Mercedes and Red Bull Racing. Both teams are head and shoulders above the rest. On track, both teams still have a chance at the top prizes. Off the track, they challenge each other with hard-hitting stances and pithy statements.
Connected to each other
Also in the run-up to the race in Saudi Arabia, both teams are once again condemned to each other. The Formula 1 organisation also linked the top teams during the big press conference. But unfortunately, Verstappen and Hamilton are not (yet) on the same podium. Perhaps such a 'clash' will follow in Abu Dhabi.
The press conference starts Thursday afternoon at 3.30pm Dutch time in Jeddah with the pairing of Lewis Hamilton and Sergio Perez. Once these drivers have been allowed to answer their questions from the media, it will be Max Verstappen and Valtteri Bottas' turn to climb the podium.
No Wolff and Horner
In Qatar Christian Horner and Toto Wolff were forced to face each other in the press conference for team managers. A lucky break for both: they have not been invited for Thursday, although we will probably see them in front of several microphones.
