Who will be world champion? 'My money is 100% on Verstappen'

Can Max Verstappen win his first-ever Formula 1 title this season? Or will it be Lewis Hamilton for the eighth time? That question will have the Formula 1 world in its grip until mid-December, but Giedo van der Garde knows who he has his money on.
Last races in Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi
In the TV programme Beau, Van der Garde looks ahead to the apotheosis of the 2021 season in Formula 1. "We still have two races to go. This weekend in Jeddah and then the last race in Abu Dhabi. The Jeddah circuit in Saudi Arabia has never been driven by anyone. That's new for all the teams and drivers. We will see how it goes."
Verstappen fans are obviously confident of a good outcome for the Dutchman, but he does think the Red Bull Racing driver will struggle. "It's important that he continues to perform optimally. Verstappen wants to be world champion and of course, we all hope that in the Netherlands, but it's not going to be easy."
Betting money on Verstappen
Verstappen has a very formidable competitor in Hamilton, who has been world champion seven times. "Lewis has a good car and we know that in addition, he is very strong at the end of the season. It's not going to be easy, but Verstappen is still ahead in the championship." When presenter Beau van Erven Dorens asks who Van der Garde is putting his money on, the former Formula One driver is clear. "I put my money one hundred percent on Verstappen."
