- GPblog.com
Richard Verschoor may not finish his season in Formula 2. Due to budget problems he will not be able to participate in the last two races. MP Motorsport immediately announced a replacement in the form of Jack Doohan, son of motorsport legend Mick Doohan and vice-champion in Formula 3.
Verschoor cannot finish Formula 2 season
Verschoor and MP Motorsport announce this together on social media. "Unfortunately this is the end of the season for me," Verschoor writes. "It was not to be, a lack of budget has determined that I will not continue in Formula 2."
"Money has always been my biggest rival and this time it has beaten me. On the other hand, if one door closes, one opens somewhere else," he concludes on a positive note.
MP Motorsport immediately announced its replacement with Doohan. "I'm very happy to be working with MP Motorsport for the last two rounds of the Formula 2 championship," the 18-year-old Australian told the official website of Formula 2. "It's a great opportunity. I can't thank the team enough, as well as my family and everyone who has made it possible for me to drive these last two rounds."
